I'm Brandon Todd, and I'm honored to serve as the principal of The Lane School. Our school is committed to creating a safe, positive, and enriching environment. We achieve this through our core values of Student Safety, Positive Relationships, and Effective Instruction. The decisions we make each day are always in the best interest of our students, and we connect them to our core values to ensure that we are focused on the right work. Our goal is to foster lifelong learning for all while providing a nurturing and safe environment.

I began my education journey as a middle school Language Arts and Social Studies teacher in Washington, Illinois, in 2003 and have continued to work in various roles since then, including my time as a teacher/coach in Vernon Hills (where I met my wonderful wife) and as an Assistant Principal in Beach Park, Hoffman Estates, and Highland Park. My various experiences in several different schools and communities have fostered my love for supporting students of all abilities and backgrounds.

Beyond my professional life, I am a father of two boys, Cameron and Ferris, and a husband to a phenomenal teacher named Casey. My wife and I spend most of our time at the hockey rink or on the baseball diamond when we are not reading a good book or sharing a meal with our family and friends. Seeing my children learn and grow each day has given me a new perspective on the students of our school. I think of your children as my own when they walk into our building each day. I am focused on providing the best possible education while developing positive relationships with my students and their families.

I am excited to begin my eighth year as part of The Lane School Family and look forward to collaborating with all of you to help our students reach their full potential. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the school year.

Mr. Brandon Todd
Principal, TLS
